Prepping your new parts for paint: Because we build the majority of our parts using vacuum infusion and vacuum bagging of open layups there is a specific process for prepping your new parts for paint.

1. Clean all parts with acetone. Let the acetone flash off and repeat two more times. The mold release has to be removed completely from all painted surfaces.

2. Apply a light coat of primer and let it cure completely.

3. Apply a dab of body filler to any small pin-holes that may be present.

4. Sand any excess filler from the pin-hole area.

5. Apply second coat of primer, again, this can be a light coat. Let it cure fully.

6. Apply paint.

This process assures the lightest possible part while having excellent durability.

Note: The surface or "gel coat" used in open polyester layups produces heavy, relatively, brittle parts which is not optimal for racing applications. We utilize Epoxy layup which is lighter and stronger than polyester. Typically we do not use gel coast unless requested since we are keeping the part light and it's going to be painted or wrapped. We do gelcoat on request.

Thank You!
